Medical Director
Born and raised in Calgary, Dr. Pearce is an anesthesiologist, clinical researcher, and Medical Cannabis consultant. He completed his medical degree and residency in Anesthesia at the University of Calgary, shortly after completing a Ph.D. in Neurophysiology and Pharmacology.
Dr. Pearce is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology & Pain Medicine at the University of Calgary. Over the past decade, he has held numerous administrative positions as both Section and Department Head and currently practices with Alberta Health Services (AHS) at the Peter Lougheed Centre and in various specialty clinics in Calgary. He is presently serving as the President of the Alberta Medical Association (AMA) section of Anesthesia.
Dr. Pearce’s clinical and research interests include applications in ambulatory anesthesia, and understanding the roles of Medical Cannabis, Ketamine and Psychedelics in the management of mental health disorders and acute and complex chronic pain conditions.

Chronic Pain Lead & Anesthesiologist
After completing her medical school training at the University of Alberta, Dr. Kelly Shinkaruk attended the University of Ottawa for anesthesia training followed by a chronic pain fellowship focusing on interventional management of cancer and non-cancer pain. It was there that she developed a deep interest in the diverse approaches to pain management including the use of ketamine and pain psychotherapy. This led her to pursue a clinical career dividing her time between chronic pain management and anesthesiology. As a Clinical Associate Professor, she has worked at both the Foothills Medical Center and the Rockyview General Hospital.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Shinkaruk has completed a Master's degree with a focus on medical education and has been the program director for the pain medicine residency since its inception in 2015. Her research interests include interprofessional collaborative care and education and she sits on the Committee for Interprofessional Collaboration and Education through the University of Calgary.

Dr. Brendan Gracias is a Family Physician originally from Edmonton and has been practicing in Calgary since 2020. After completing his residency at the University of Saskatchewan, he gained broad experience in both rural and urban settings, caring for patients across all stages of life.
He is committed to preventative medicine, holistic care, and the critical connection between mental and physical health. Dr. Gracias places a strong emphasis on longevity—not only helping patients live longer, but supporting them in living well as they age. He believes that informed, empowered patients are essential to building a healthier present and future

Rachel is a people centred leader with a deep passion for creating welcoming, supportive spaces in health care. As Client Services Manager at SABI Health, she brings warmth, clarity, and genuine care to every client encounter.
With a background in managing client experience across several clinical settings, Rachel is known for her calm presence, intuitive communication, and ability to make clients feel heard and at ease from the moment they walk through the door. Rachel thrives at the intersection of organization and connection, ensuring that both clients and teams feel seen, valued, and supported.
Her approach is rooted in trust, transparency, and the belief that healing happens best when people feel truly cared for.

Therapist — Chronic Pain & Trauma
Aaron is a registered psychologist with a deep passion for helping people find lasting freedom from chronic pain, anxiety, and trauma. Drawing on the latest neuroplasticity-informed research, Aaron guides clients through a process of understanding the emotional and nervous system roots of their suffering — and finding their way out.
Aaron specializes in Pain Reprocessing Therapy, trauma, and anxiety, working collaboratively with clients to unlearn fear-based patterns and reconnect with a sense of safety, ease, and trust in their own bodies. His approach is curious, compassionate, and grounded in the belief that when we understand the way into pain, we can discover the way out.
At SABI Mind, Aaron brings a psychological lens to support clients at integrating their insights into meaningful, lasting change.

Therapist
Laura is a registered psychologist and clinical counsellor with advanced training in psychology, counselling, hypnotherapy, EMDR, and sports psychology. Currently completing her Doctorate on psychotherapy and psychedelics, she integrates approaches such as CBT, ACT, Compassionate Inquiry, mindfulness, and trauma-focused therapies.
Trained in Psychedelic Integration Therapy with the MIND Foundation, Laura also offers breathwork and support for preparation and integration of altered states. Her work is grounded in compassion, non-judgment, and the belief that healing begins with a strong therapeutic relationship.

Registered Social Worker
Theresa holds a Master of Clinical Social Work degree, specializing in Addiction and Mental Health. With over seven years of experience in addiction and mental health, she has worked across diverse settings, including outpatient addiction centers, inpatient wilderness addiction treatment centers, Indigenous mental health programs, and harm reduction initiatives within Alberta Health Services (AHS) and non-profit organizations.
As a somatic trauma therapist trained in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (A.R.T.), Theresa’s approach is person-centered, trauma-informed, and grounded in anti-oppressive practices. She deeply values the therapeutic relationship, striving to create a space of comfort, respect, and collaboration. In this environment, clients can explore their experiences, find meaning, build capacity, expand resilience, and move toward empowerment and healing.

Lead Clinician
Jessica is an Advanced Care Paramedic who has directly observed the significant benefits of the modalities offered at SABI. Committed to expanding access, she strives to make these treatments available to those in need, particularly First Responders and Military Personnel.
Jessica established one of Alberta’s first Ketamine Assisted Therapy clinics and served on the panel responsible for developing regulatory guidelines for Psychedelic Assisted Therapy within
the province. In addition to her ongoing work as a First Responder both in ambulance services and the broader community, she remains a strong advocate for advancing her profession and improving mental health care outcomes.Jessica is also the founder of Prairie Sky Equine Assisted Therapy, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing equine therapy and equine sport opportunities to underserved populations in Calgary and surrounding areas.

As a Registered Nurse with experience in acute care, public health, and private clinic settings, Jayna brings a compassionate, trauma-informed approach shaped by both her professional background and her own mental health journey. She is committed to addressing the root causes of suffering through holistic approaches and believes that psychedelic therapies can facilitate profound healing. Her lived experience informs the empathy and presence she brings to supporting others on their path to wellness.

Erin is a registered nurse with a background in cardiac and mental health nursing. With her training, she is able to integrate clinical precision with compassionate understanding and strong advocacy skills to create environments that support individuals psychological and physical safety. Throughout her professional journey, Erin has worked in emergency medical response and forest firefighting, experiences that have shaped her ability to remain calm and grounded in the midst of mental and physical turmoil. Additionally her training in clinical anatomy and research fuels her curiosity, open-mindedness, and commitment to asking thoughtful questions and continually seeking better ways to support those in her care.
Alongside her professional work Erin is committed to her own personal mental health journey, with a focus on emotional regulation, self-acceptance, movement, and self-awareness. Her ongoing commitment to personal growth supports her ability to hold
space for others and allows her to humbly maintain an embodied and empowered perspective on the challenges and joys innate to any healing journey.Erin’s approach to care prioritizes relationship building, intentional listening, belief in the
